Car Recovery Services
Snap arranges four car recovery services through independent recovery operators: towing and recovery, breakdown assistance, accident recovery and a jump start. Tell us where the car is, where it needs to go and what's happened, and we send you one quote before you decide. No membership needed.
Asking for a quote does not book the job.
Send a request 24/7; requests are handled round the clock. Or call 078 3333 9309, Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm.
The four services

Towing and recovery
Moves a car that can't be driven to the destination you choose, such as a garage, a dealer or home, including one in another town. Use it at the roadside, in a car park, or for a planned move of a car that has sat on the drive or failed its MOT, on a date you pick in the quote form, or whenever suits if you're flexible. Loading methods available through the network include flatbed, low loader and wheel skates, matched to the job from the details you give.
Price guide. A local tow up to 10 miles is typically £50 to £150. Longer-distance recovery is quoted for the route and the vehicle.

Breakdown assistance
For a car that has stopped and you don't know what it needs. Describe what the car is doing, and the job is quoted as a jump start or a recovery.
Price guide. Quoted as a jump start or a recovery, using the ranges for those jobs.

Accident recovery
For a car that can't be driven, or isn't safe to drive, after a collision. Speak to your insurer first, and ask whether they arrange recovery.
Price guide. Quoted for the damage, access and journey.

Jump start
For a car with a flat battery, parked where an operator can reach it. A jump start may restart a car with a discharged battery. If the car starts, that doesn't prove the battery or charging system is sound.
Price guide. Typically £50 to £100. If the jump start doesn't get the car going, the operator may charge for the attempt, and a tow is quoted as a separate job.
The figures above are indicative ranges that include our booking fee, not a national tariff.
Not sure which service you need
Start from what the car is doing.
- It won't start, and the lights are dim or dead. A flat battery is one possible cause, so a jump start may be the place to begin. The car won't start and flat battery guides help you tell.
- It started, then stopped, or a warning light came on. Breakdown assistance. Describe what it did, and it's quoted as a jump start or a recovery.
- It won't roll or steer, or an automatic won't come out of park. Towing and recovery. Say so in your request, because it changes what the job needs.
- You've put the wrong fuel in. Don't start the engine, and read what to do after putting in the wrong fuel. If the car needs moving, that's towing and recovery.
- A flat tyre and no usable spare. Towing and recovery, to a tyre garage or home.
- There's been a collision. Accident recovery, once everyone is safe and you've spoken to your insurer.
- You still can't tell. Describe what's happened in your request and we'll work out which job it is. You can also browse the situation guides.
How your quote is worked out
Your quote depends on the pickup and drop-off, the car's condition, access and operator availability. You see the total for your job before you accept.
We check prices and availability with suitable operators covering the area and send you one quote, with our booking fee and the operator's charge shown separately. If it doesn't suit you, ask and we'll look again. The quote is built on what you tell us, so if the car or the pickup turns out different, the price may change. See what a recovery costs, or how booking works.
Paying for a service booked through Snap
- Once you accept your quote, you pay Snap's booking fee by bank transfer, using the details on your tracking page.
- You get a receipt for your booking fee.
- You pay the operator's charge to the operator when the job is done.
- We don't take card payments on this website and we don't ask for your card details.
- Cancel within 15 minutes of confirming, or before an operator is assigned, whichever comes first, and the booking fee is refunded in full.
