Snap Car Recovery (snapcarrecovery.co.uk) is a digital marketplace trading under the name Snap Car Recovery in the United Kingdom. We operate an online platform that connects people who need vehicle recovery with independent recovery operators.
Recovery services are provided by independent operators, not by Snap Car Recovery. Snap acts solely as an intermediary — we facilitate the connection, handle the booking process, and collect a platform fee. We do not employ, direct, or control recovery operators.
Accepting these terms
By submitting a quote request or using any part of Snap Car Recovery, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Snap Car Recovery.
You must be at least 18 years old to use Snap Car Recovery. By using the platform, you confirm you meet this requirement.
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version will always be published at this URL with an updated date at the top.
Marketplace — not a provider
Snap Car Recovery is a marketplace intermediary. This means:
- We do not provide vehicle recovery, towing, or breakdown services directly.
- Recovery services are carried out by independent operators on our network. They are self-employed businesses, not agents or employees of Snap.
- We are not responsible for the quality, timing, safety, or outcome of any recovery service carried out by an operator.
- Any contract for the recovery service itself is between you and the operator — not between you and Snap.
We do verify that operators on our network hold the appropriate licences and insurance before they can accept jobs. However, this verification does not constitute a guarantee of service quality.
Recovery operators
Operators on our network are required to:
- Hold a valid UK driving licence for the vehicle category they operate
- Maintain valid public liability and vehicle recovery insurance
- Provide accurate information about their vehicles and capabilities
- Notify us promptly of any changes to their licences, insurance, or legal status
If you have a complaint about the conduct or quality of work carried out by a recovery operator, please contact us at info@snapcarrecovery.co.uk. We will do our best to mediate, but we cannot accept legal liability for the operator's work.
Bookings & quotes
When you submit a quote request through Snap Car Recovery:
- You are requesting to be connected with an available operator — this is not a guaranteed booking until an operator accepts your job.
- Quotes are based on the information you provide. If that information is inaccurate (e.g. wrong vehicle type, wrong location), the final price may differ.
- Once an operator is assigned, you will be notified via SMS or WhatsApp with their details and an estimated arrival time.
- Availability cannot always be guaranteed, particularly in remote areas or during periods of high demand.
You must not attempt to contact or arrange a booking with an operator outside of Snap Car Recovery for jobs that originated through us. Doing so may result in your access being revoked.
Payment
Our pricing works in two parts:
- Booking fee — a platform fee paid to Snap Car Recovery upfront to secure your job. This is shown clearly before you confirm your request.
- Balance — the remaining amount for the recovery service, paid directly to the operator on completion of the job. You will see the full price breakdown before you commit.
There are no hidden charges. The total you see is the total you pay.
Payments are processed securely via Stripe. We do not store your card details. Stripe's own privacy policy and terms apply to payment processing.
Cancellations & refunds
If you need to cancel a booking:
- Before an operator is assigned — contact us and we will issue a full refund of your booking fee.
- After an operator has accepted your job— you may still cancel, but the booking fee may be retained to cover the operator's time and travel costs. We will assess this on a case-by-case basis.
- If the operator cancels — you will receive a full refund of your booking fee, and we will do our best to find an alternative operator.
The balance paid directly to the operator is subject to their own cancellation terms. Snap is not responsible for refunding amounts paid directly to an operator.

Your obligations
When using our platform, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and truthful information in your quote request
- Be present at the pickup location (or have someone authorised present) when the operator arrives
- Treat operators with respect — abusive or threatening behaviour will result in immediate cancellation with no refund
- Not use the platform to make false, fraudulent, or malicious requests
- Not attempt to circumvent our platform by arranging direct payments with operators for repeat bookings
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by UK law:
- Snap Car Recovery's liability to you is limited to the booking fee you paid to us for the specific job in question.
- We are not liable for any damage to your vehicle, loss of contents, personal injury, or consequential losses arising from the recovery service, as this is the responsibility of the operator and covered by their insurance.
- We are not liable for delays caused by traffic, weather, third parties, or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.
- We are not liable for any loss resulting from inaccurate information provided by you at the time of booking.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for fraud, death, or personal injury caused by our own negligence — your statutory rights are not affected.
Intellectual property
All content on this website — including the Snap Car Recovery name, logo, design, and written content — is owned by or licensed to Snap Car Recovery. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use any of it without our written permission.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from your use of our platform will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
We encourage you to contact us first to resolve any issue informally before pursuing legal action.
